Introducing the DustScan
DS500X
The is a low-cost flexible method
for ambient, outdoor dust and air quality
monitoring. It combines
DustScan directional dust gauge and a
battery-powered,
sampler in one unit for simultaneous sampling
of dust flux and gravimetric particulates.
When combined with the DustDisc sampler
(DS500X-D) simultaneous monitoring of
directional dust flux, dust deposition and PM
can be achieved in one unit.
The directional gauge is a passive system
that requires no power supply and along with
the PM inlet is installed semi-permanently

on site. Sampling heads are systematically
changed every 7 or 14 days. The filter
reference PM sampler is programmed to

run for a full week and can be powered either
by battery (12V) or the mains (240V). Sampler
units and battery cases are removed and
replaced on a weekly basis.

and is therefore ideal for baseline PM
monitoring, compliance
routine fenceline boundary monitoring.

selective inlet jet impactor system with a PM
version currently in development.
