WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL INTRODUCTION The WSE47 is a highly efficient, cost effective, and reliable way of heating your pool using the power of the sun. The collectors are constructed of corrosion resistant materials, enabling them to provide many years of reliable operation. Evacuated tubes are designed to rely on the sun’s radiation for heating rather than ambient temperatures, meaning the...

WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL FRAME ASSEMBLY STEP 1: Place the manifold on a non-scratch surface with the bolts facing up. Remove the nuts from the bolts in the manifold. Place the U-channel main support rails on the bolts extending from the manifold using the predrilled holes in the support rails.

WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL STEP 2: Attach the main cross brace half way down the main support rails using two M8 x 15 mm bolts and nuts. Attach the front lower support rail at the lowest point on the main support rails with four M8 x 10 mm bolts.
Page 8
WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL The distance between the manifold and the lower support rail should be 54” to insure that the tubes sit properly in the manifold. It may be necessary to drill additional holes in the main support rails to achieve this distance. If the tubes do not seal properly in the manifold, it is recommended to raise the lower support rail by 1”...

WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL STEP 4: Use M8 x 15 mm bolts to connect the X cross bracing to the frame legs in an X shape. Connect the two cross bracing pieces in the middle with a M8 x 20 mm bolt.

WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL STEP 5: Attach two of the mounting L brackets to the lowest point on the main support rails using the pre drilled holes and M8 x 10 mm bolts. Attach the other two L brackets to the two rear legs.
WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL FRAME MOUNTING WARNING - Before you mount your WSE47 collector on a roof, make sure your pump is suitable for overcoming the head pressure required to pump water up to the collectors. When the collectors are to be mounted on a flat roof, the collectors can be connected together on strut rails and set on blocks as shown in the photo below.
Page 12
WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL mounted at less than 45° the water may not completely fill the evacuated tubes, which will reduce performance. Depending on the pitch of your roof, you may need to make modifications to the collector frame in order to achieve this minimum angle. This may include cutting the rear legs and drilling new holes.
This allows for ease of service if anything ever happens to the collectors. Because high flow rates are not required, lines leading to and from the pool can be reduced to ¾” hose or piping. The WSE47 connection kit includes two ¾” hose adapters for this purpose.
Page 14
The WSE47 Collectors are designed to operate at low pressure (15-20 psi max). To ensure that the pressure in the system does not increase enough to damage the collectors, a vent must be installed.
Page 15
The photo below shows the WSE47 connection kit attached to the manifold. The vent rises vertically from the connection kit and the return line to the pool is a ¾” hose attached to the hose adapter on the connection kit.
WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL VACUUM TUBE INSTALLATION DANGER – Risk of burns and scalding due to escaping steam! Water and steam inside the tubes can reach 100 °C (212 °F) when exposed to the sun. DANGER – Always wear work gloves when handling evacuated glass tubes.
Page 17
WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL STEP 3: Insert the black base cup over the bottom of the tube and snap the cup into place in the front lower support rail. Adjust the base cup by turning the threaded portion until the cup is seated firmly against the bottom of the tube.
Once the frames are secured, the system has been connected to the pool, and the tubes have been installed, it is time to fill the system. WARNING – Water should be introduced into the WSE47 system when the tubes are not hot. Introducing cold water into a hot tube may cause it to break.
WSE47 SOLAR SWIMMING POOL HEATER INSTRUCTION MANUAL PREPARING FOR WINTER WARNING - It is very important that all the water in the system be removed before any freezing temperatures occur. The glass tubes will break if the water inside them freezes.
The WSE47 manifold is covered by a limited liability warranty from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 5 years. The WSE47 evacuated tubes are covered by a limited liability warranty from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 10 years and damage due to hail up to 1 inch in diameter.
