Substrobe AF35 AutoFlash Kit #4035.1
Optional #9523.61 single or #9523.62 dual tray and handles are required for
the attachment of DS-series strobes. The optional #9571.3 - Page 12
features a 1" (2.5cm) ball for attachment to the top of the release handle.
This provides a mounting point for Ultralight, TLC, and other non-Ikelite arm
systems.

NOTE: All current model DS-series strobes are fully compatible with the
housing TTL system. Older DS50 or DS125 Substrobes may require

Please Read If Using an EV Controller
TTL flash control is not available when using an EV Controller, and
therefore an EV Controller is not recommended for use with this
housing.
NOTE: Do not attach the housing hotshoe to the camera if using the EV
Manual Controller. If the hotshoe is attached, the camera flash may not
fire, which is necessary to trigger the external strobe.

External Accessory Lenses
An external wide angle conversion lens increases
angle of coverage so you can get much closer to
your subject while still fitting everything in the
frame. By reducing the amount of water between
the subject and your camera lens, the resulting
image will be more crisp and colorful. Attach
67mm threaded #6420 Ikelite W-20, Inon Type II
and Epoque wide angle or macro lenses directly
to the front of the housing port. Bayonet mount
lenses are not compatible with this housing.
Vignetting will be present with a wide angle lens
attached. The camera must be zoomed several
stops to eliminate vignetting. Addition of an Ikelite W-20 or comparable wide
angle lens will gain approximately 15-20% angle of view after zooming.
NOTE: Only 67mm threaded Accessory and Conversion lenses can be used
with this housing.

Non-Ikelite External Strobes.
Special sync cords are available to connect non-Ikelite strobes from
Nikonos, Inon, and Sea & Sea. Non-Ikelite strobes can be used in manual
modes only. Use of a non-Ikelite strobe bypasses the housing's built-in TTL
circuitry.
Strobes with a slave feature can be triggered by the camera's flash or by an
Ikelite Substrobe. An included flash deflector prevents the camera's flash
from creating backscatter in the image.
External Color Filters
Color filters such as the UR-Pro Filter
replace some of the reds, oranges and
more natural tones that would
otherwise be lost underwater. Effective
in relatively shallow, sunny conditions.
Available as #6441.41 for tropical blue
water and #6441.81 for use in green
water settings. For optimum results
use in combination with manual white
balance (see camera user guide for
information on setting custom white
balance). Not recommended when using external strobes.

For light lubrication of the main housing o-ring.
Back o-ring #0109
O-rings last for several years if properly maintained. (See Housing
Maintenance section - Page 17). Always carry a spare o-ring in case the
original becomes damaged or lost.
Travel Case #3920
This optional carrying case with foam will accommodate the housing
with a single AF35 or DS51 strobe, single tray with handle and
accessories.
