Introduction An Inverter is an electronic device which converts low voltage 12V DC electricity from a battery, or other power source, to standard 230 volts 50 Hz AC (Alternating Current) mains power. The regulated output voltage enables you to use your domestic equipment everywhere. To ensure you operate the device properly, please read the manual carefully before you use and save it for future reference.
  • Page 3: General Safety

General Safety Always operate the inverter from the correct power source, 12V battery. Always make connection in correct polarity, RED is positive (+) and BLACK is negative (-). REVERSING the polarity will damage the inverter and is not covered under warranty. Ensure the DC input connections are secure, as a loose contact can result in voltage drop and can cause overheated wires and melted insulation.

Experimentation is the only means of determining whether the inverter can handle the surges required to start a particular load. NOTE: IN350 inverter will not operate most appliances designed to produce heat, such as hair dryers, irons, heaters, toasters and coffee maker etc.
  • Page 6: Battery Use

An alarm will sound when the voltage from the battery drops to 10.5 volts. This indicates that the battery requires charging. The IN350 will automatically shut down if the voltage is allowed to drop to 10 volts. NOTE: It is normal that IN350 may sound momentarily when the unit...

Example: Appliance is rated at 350 watts. Power source/Battery must be able to deliver: 350/12/0.7 = 42 Amps. CAUTION: The IN350 must only be connected to batteries with a nominal output voltage of 12 volts. The Power Inverter does not operate from a 24 volt battery.

CAUTION: Do not use with positive ground electrical systems. The majority of modem cars have negative ground. If in doubt, check with your local vehicle dealer. Always make connection in correct polarity, RED is positive (+) and BLACK is negative (-). REVERSING the polarity will damage the inverter and is not covered under warranty.
  • Page 9: Installation Of Inverter

Installation of Inverter For best operating results the inverter should be placed on a solid, level flat surface and well ventilated, such as the floor of the vehicle. For safety, DO NOT place on, or under seats. The following points should be noted: Do not allow water to drip or splash onto the Inverter.

In some cases, especially with weak TV signals, some interference may be visible. Try the following corrective measures. Position the IN350 as far as possible away from a television, the antenna and the antenna cable. Adjust the orientation of the INV350, the antenna cable and the TV power cable to minimize interference.

Battery voltage below Recharge or replace battery. 10 volts. Reduce load not to exceed maximum rating for Equipment being the INVERTER. 350 watts (1.4A) for IN350 operated draws too much power. Inverter in thermal Allow inverter to cool down. Ensure There is adequate ventilation around Unit.
  • Page 12: Frequently Asked Questions And Answers

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers What is meant by the terms "continuous-power" and "peak power"? Some appliances or tools, such as ones with a motor, require an initial surge of power to start up ("starting load" or "peak load"). Once started, the tool or appliance requires less power to continue to operate ("continuous load") Can I Operate a Microwave with a Power Inverter?
  • Page 13 What battery should I choice? For low power inverter or for a short use (10 minutes) of high power inverter at the maximum load, a standard 12V vehicle (50/75A) battery can supply the sufficient energy. If you want to use high power inverter at maximum power for long time, we recommend you use deep cycle (marine) batteries which are suitable for hundred complete charge/discharge cycles.
  • Page 14: Maintenance

Maintenance Very little maintenance is required to keep your inverter operating properly. You should clean the exterior of the unit periodically with a damp cloth to prevent accumulation of dust and dirt. No blockage of the ventilation system. Environmental Protection Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste.
