Page 5: Part 3: Solar Water Heater Installation
The differential controller uses 10k ohm thermistors or 1k RTDs, depending on the controller model, to monitor the temperature difference between the collector and the Solar Skies Stainless Tank Series Water Heater. The controller turns on the pump when the collector is 8–20° F above tank temperature and turns off when the differential drops to 4°F. -

Potable water piping is located on the side of your Solar Skies Stainless Tank Series Water Heater and marked Hot and Cold. Compare the temperature readings in the two line thermometers. Tank Sensor The tank sensor is wired to the solar controller and measures the temperature on the bottom of the Solar Skies Solar Water Heater. The tank sensor is used in conjunction with the solar collector sensor to turn the circulating pump on and off at the solar control preset temperature differentials.
