    The Air Pod I & II A come with a 110/1/60 direct drive forward curve blower assembly and the Air Pod II and Air Pod III come standard with a 3 HP TEFC motor and backward-inclined, Class II, non-sparking blower in an acoustic lined blower compartment.

    INSPECTION AND UNPACKING Inspect your LEV-CO unit for shipping damage immediately upon receipt. Damaged carton(s), broken crate(s), etc. are indications that the unit may have been damaged in shipment. It is also possible shipping damage may be concealed and not noticed until the unit is installed and in operation. If any damage is found, notify your delivery carrier at once and enter a claim.
  • Page 10 FLUSH MOUNT 3. Drill a 2 5/8” hole in the desired location for the gauge. Be sure to cut away any silencing material inside the cabinet first. Install the pressure gauge and gasket using the supplied bracket (not shown) according to the directions included with the gauge. 4.

    9. Run clear tubing (supplied) from the “Low” port of the gauge through the installed grommet(s). NOTE: Spray some WD-40 on the clear tubing to ease penetration thru the grommet. 10. Reference “Filter Service” for reading of gauge. 11. Re-connect power to the unit. ELECTRICAL All Air Pod 115V, single-phase units, have a toggle switch located on the top of the unit.

    THREE PHASE MOTOR - AIR POD II and AIR POD III The Model Air Pod II and Air Pod III are three phase units with the wiring terminated inside of the motor junction box. Motor starters and disconnects are not supplied with the unit unless purchased as an option. Any customer supplied device must meet local and National Electrical Code.

    BI BLOWER The BI motor (Figure 14) requires little or no routine servicing. The motor, blower wheel, and motor compartment gaskets should be checked twice a year under normal usage. It is very important that the blower wheel be aligned correctly to prevent interference with the inlet horn and also to maximize the air flow performance.

    OPERATION Operation of any Air Pod model is very straightforward. Place the unit in the desired work area and arrange it so that no equipment will come into contact with the unit and/or power cords. Switch the unit ON as required. FILTER MAINTENANCE The Air Pod 6”...

    FILTER SERVICE Filter service is required when a reduction of airflow (suction) is observed. The optional pressure gauge (Figure 18) is used to judge the amount of particulate collected on the filter. In most applications, a reading of 2.0” is typical of when the filter(s) should be replaced. Figure 18.

    AD MODULE - REFILLABLE: WEAR ADEQUATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE DEVICES WHEN REFILLING AS AIRBORNE CARBON DUST IS RELEASED DURING THIS OPERATION. AD’s are NOT factory-filled and must be filled with charcoal before unit operation. The adsorption material (activated carbon or other) can be emptied from the module and refilled with fresh adsorber. Refer to Figure 22. It is important to get the AD module as full as possible as any low spots or air gaps will allow the gas being captured to by-pass or be exposed to a reduced amount of scrubbing.
