    ETTING STARTED Display icons steady on: answering machine off flashes alternating with or any other number: answering machine is on, day and time are not set. steady on: number of messages (already heard). flashes: number of new messages (not yet heard). flashes: 10 seconds of recording time remaining.

    ETTING STARTED First use When operating the answering machine for the first time please set day and time. Default language is English. Selecting the language Press for approx. 2 seconds.   • Page 16 ETTING STARTED Now set the number of ring signals using the slide switch on the rear side of the unit. The number of ring signals defines how many times the phone will ring before incoming calls will be taken (2 = 2 ring signals, 6 = 6 ring signals, TS = Toll saver).

    ELEFONIEREN ELEFON IN ESSAGES ETRIEB NEHMEN Messages General The maximum length for an incoming message is 120 seconds. If the caller speaks for longer, a signal tone sounds and the call will be cut off. If there is a pause of more than 7 seconds during recording, the call is automa- tically terminated with a signal tone.

    ELEFONIEREN ESSAGES Playback messages Press once to listen to your incoming messages. Your answering machine will now first play back the newly recorded messages. If you have no new messages, all recorded messages will be played back. If no messages have been saved, you will hear several signal tones. To interrupt listening press By pressing again within 7 seconds, you can resume listening.

The length of your own greeting must be at least 3 seconds and must not exceed 60 seconds. If you have recorded an outgoing message of your own, this message will be used automatically.

Intended use The answering machine is suitable for connection within a analogue public telephone network system. However, due to the different services offered by the various telecommunication network providers, there is no guarantee that the equipment will function trouble−free on every telecommunication ter- minal connection.
