    Sensor Inputs You can attach external sensors such as infrared sensors, smoke detectors, proximity sensors, door sensors to the MicroJack digital surveillance system’s input-signal connectors on the I/O Audio Card. These devices trigger the system to respond with a predefined action (e.g. record video).

To change the path or add a new storage path, please click Add and select a desired folder. To delete a path, please select the path and click Delete.

You can select “Desktop Lock” to lock the tool tray on desktop to avoid unauthorized users using hot keys (Ctrl + Alt + Del) or to shutdown the DVR application.

  • Page 73 Chapter 3 Configuring the System Auto Brightness Control and Night View The video image quality of outside cameras may be affected by insolation and weather, thus the image can be too strong or too weak. The system provides “Auto Brightness Control” to improve image quality and avoid vague images when the objects are too bright or too dark.

Camera Icons The bar below shows cameras that are connected to your digital surveillance system. When the number inside the camera icon lights up, it means the camera is connected to the digital surveillance system.

Right click to select multiple camera icons or tick “All” box. When you select all cameras, you will see the screen shows ”Multiple channels”.

Video Size For AV 30/120/120H users, the system provides 3 sizes for selection: 320 × 240, 640 × 480, 640 × 480 (enhanced). Though the default system camera setting is resolution 320x240, the system supports up to 16 cameras of resolution 640x480.

Each frame will consist of two sub-frames, or "fields". When these fields are merged into the full frame, interlace lines appear where the fields differ (usually due to motion).

Shield: Tick the Shield box to enable Shield. Move your cursor to the screen and then click the left button to shield a specific area.

You can decide which cameras can be remotely monitored. Tick “all” box to select all camera numbers, or select the desired camera numbers respectively.

Enable Handy View: The system provides “Handy View” function to enable remote users to use a PDA or a mobile phone for remote monitor. Select the item, Enable Handy View, to enable remote users to connect the DVR server by PDA or mobile phone.

    Chapter 3 Configuring the System 3.2.5 Schedule Setting Click to setup Schedule. You can schedule recording, backup or reboot schedule by day or by period. Click to adjust to a proper month. The system will mark the present date. You will see a drop-down list on the upper right place. Drag the list to select a schedule task.

Please assign a storage path for backup files. It will detect the video files in the assigned folder and then check which files that the system needs to backup.
