Transporting the EPAC

WARNING Danger of injury through shearing and trapping in the back wheel
If you load your EPAC with the motor switched on, this may start up unintentionally
if the pedals are touched. The rotating rear wheel may then cause serious injuries.
If the EPAC is then placed on the ground, it may make uncontrolled movements.
Remove the battery pack before transport; see the enclosed BOSCH original
operating instructions.
WARNING Fire Hazard
In strong sunlight the interior of a car can heat up to very high temperatures.
High temperatures may cause internal short-circuits in the rechargeable
battery pack and cause the rechargeable battery pack to catch fire. Park your
car only in shady places and make sure that the ambient temperature is below
50°C.
If flames or smoke come out of the down tube you must immediately leave
your EPAC where it is. Put out the fire with fire extinguishing equipment, if
available.
If there is a danger that the fire will spread to neighbouring items, call the
fire brigade immediately.
WARNING Danger from falls and accidents
The use of bicycle racks can damage parts of your EPAC which are relevant to
safety. The failure of these parts can lead to dangerous riding situations, falls,
accidents and material damage.
Transport this EPAC only inside your car.
No other objects may be placed on this EPAC during transport.
This EPAC must not be clamped into car transport systems
(roof racks, rear or interior carrying devices etc.).
13.1

Assembling and dismantling the wheels

In order to transport the EPAC in your car you can
dismantle the wheels.
WARNING Danger from falls and accidents
Incorrectly installed wheels can lead to dangerous riding situations,
falls and accidents.
Check that the wheel is correctly mounted before you use your EPAC again.
Check that the wheels are positioned in the centre of the front wheel fork
and frame.
Shake both wheels strongly at right angles to the direction of travel.
– The wheels must not move in their mounting.
– No cracking or grinding noises should be heard.
Check that the quick-release lever is correctly closed,
see section 8.4, Quick-release axles.
