What to do in the case of a fall or accident

WARNING
Fire Hazard
If your EPAC falls over this may result in short circuits in the rechargeable
battery pack and cause the rechargeable battery pack to catch fire.
After a fall or accident you should leave your EPAC outside for an hour away
from combustible materials.
Move the back of your finger briefly and carefully along the battery pack. If you
notice any unusual warmth, leave your EPAC where it is. Under no circum-
stances should you continue to use your EPAC. Transport your EPAC to your
specialist bicycle dealer as soon as the battery pack has cooled down.
If flames or smoke come out of the down tube you must immediately leave
your EPAC where it is. Put out the fire with fire extinguishing equipment, if
available. If you do not have any extinguishing equipment available, wait until
the fire has become extinguished and all of the parts of your EPAC have cooled
down. Then transport your EPAC without delay to a specialist bicycle dealer.
If there is a danger that the fire will spread to neighbouring items, call the fire
brigade immediately.
You should only use your EPAC again when it has been checked by a specialist
workshop and repaired if necessary.
WARNING Danger from falls and accidents
A fall or accident can damage safety-related parts of your EPAC. This can lead
to dangerous riding situations, falls, accidents and material damage.
Contact your specialist bicycle dealer immediately after an accident or fall.
You should only use your EPAC again when it has been properly repaired by
the specialist bicycle dealer.
After a fall it is essential to have all of the parts of your EPAC which have hit a
hard surface, such as the
Handlebars
Handlebar stem
and crank
replaced.
All other parts must be inspected by your dealer and replaced, if necessary.
NOTE:
If you have any questions after falls and accidents, you can also contact a bicycle
specialist. In Germany you can obtain corresponding contact addresses from your
local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
