Quick and easy! Set up your Smart Alert
Bed shaker
Each evening, place the remote
in the charger cradle to ensure
bed shaker is activated if
a detector sounds.
Step 1 – Install
Connect the bed shaker to
the nightstand charger using
the supplied connector.
Step 2 – Test
Place the remote in charger.
Press test button on any
of the detectors, and check
that bed shaker vibrates.
Step 3 – Finish
Press acknowledge button
on remote to stop test alert.
TIP
Check all batteries every
six months.
Occasionally press test
button on each of the
detectors to see if batteries
are still operational.

Telephone detector
Step 1 – Connect
Connect telephone cable
to telephone connector.
Insert adaptor plug into
telephone socket.
Step 2 – Install
Position detector unit on wall
or any level surface near
telephone socket. Use supplied
wall mount bracket or
self-adhesive velcro tape to adhere
detector to wall, after cleaning
wall with supplied wet wipe.
Do not place detector on floor.
Step 3 – Test
Press test button on the detector.
The LED light on telephone
detector will illuminate, as will
the yellow LED telephone icon
on remote, which will also vibrate.
A beep alert will sound in your
hearing instruments.
Step 4 – Finish
Press acknowledge button
on remote to stop test alert.
Smoke detector
(omit steps with Awareness Package)
Step 1 – Install
Remove mounting bracket from
smoke detector.
Attach supplied mounting bracket
at least 20 in/50 cm from any
wall next to existing smoke detector
or where a smoke detector would
50 cm
be optimally located in your home.
Re-attach smoke detector to
the wall mount bracket.
Fully extend antenna away from
the smoke detector.
Step 2 – Test
Hold down test button on the detector.
After several seconds, smoke detector
will sound a shrill alarm and transmit
a signal to remote. The red LED smoke
icon will illuminate on remote, which will
also vibrate. The urgent beep alert will
sound in your hearing instruments.
Step 3 – Finish
Press acknowledge button on remote
to stop test alert – see note below for
details on urgent alerts.
IMPORTANT NOTE! For urgent alerts from
the smoke detector, beeping, vibration and
LED icon on remote can be stopped only by
addressing cause of smoke alarm. When testing
the smoke detector, pressing the acknowledge
button will stop the beeping; the vibration
and LED continue for 30 seconds.
Doorbell detector
Step 1 – Install
Position detector unit on wall
Max 3 cm
with red triangle no more than
1.5 in/3 cm from doorbell's sound
source. Use supplied hardware or
self-adhesive velcro tape to adhere
detector to wall, after cleaning
wall with supplied wet wipe.
Step 2 – Test
Press test button on the detector.
The LED light on doorbell detector
will illuminate, as will the green LED
doorbell icon on remote, which will
also vibrate. A beep alert will sound
in your hearing instruments.
Step 3 – Finish
Press acknowledge button
on remote to stop test alert.
