how do you get the labels aligned as ive just replaced the roll and they are all running out of sync now

To align labels on the Adkins Label Master after replacing the roll, use the Standard Media Calibration. The printer will detect and set the media type and length, and adjust the sensors for optimal performance. It will feed one to four labels during this process. This replaces the power-up Auto Sensing calibration.

thanks for the response but what is the standard media callibration ? we got the wrong manual with our tabletop printer which is called the Adkins Desktop Label Master Printer and its printing at the top of the labels then in the middle and then at the bottom and then nothing on the label only on the backing so only one in 5 or 6 is in the center of the clothing label. Can you help ?

Orient the media roll so that its printing surface will face up as it passes over the platen (drive) roller.

    Transfer ribbons come in several varieties and in some cases colours to match your application needs. Adkins transfer ribbons are specifically designed for your media. Using non-Adkins brand media or ribbon not approved for use in your Desktop 'Label Master' Printer may damage your printer or print head.

Push the right spindle in and swing the left side of the ribbon roll onto the left side ribbon spindle. Rotate the ribbon roll on the left spindle till it locks the ribbon roll’s core notches onto the spindle.
  • Page 20 Getting Started Loading Transfer Ribbon Place an empty ribbon core on printer’s take-up spindles. Rotate the ribbon core until the notches align and lock into the left side of the take-up hub. You can find your first ribbon take-up core in the packing box. Subsequently, use the empty supply core to take up the next roll of ribbon.

DO NOT TOUCH Ribbon Out Sensor Thumb Wheel Verify that the media is loaded and ready to print and then close the printer cover. Press the Feed button to have the printer feed a minimum of 10 cm (4 inches) of media to remove slack and ribbon wrinkle, and to align the ribbon on the spindles.

    The KDU (keyboard display unit) is a small terminal unit that interfaces with the printer for accessing EPL label forms stored in the printer. Your Desktop 'Label Master' Printer must include the serial port option to operate with the KDU.

The printer has the ability to automatically run a single label form. One or more downloaded label forms can be accessed and run from your KDU to call a label form.

    Always use a new cleaning pen on the print head (an old pen carries contaminants from its previous uses that may damage the print head). N.B. Print head cleaning pens are available for a charge by contacting A. Adkins & Sons Limited Caution • The print head becomes hot while printing. To protect from damaging the print head and risk of personal injury, avoid touching the print head.

    Maintenance Cleaning Sensor Cleaning Dust can accumulate on the media sensors. Gently brush away dust; if necessary, use a dry swab to brush away dust. If adhesives or other contaminates remain, use an alcohol moistened swab to break it up. Use a dry swab to remove any residue that may be left from the first cleaning.

    3. The printer has failed its power on self test (POST). • If this error occurs right after you turn on the printer, contact an A. Adkins & Sons Limited for assistance. When the printer is operating normally, the printer status light will be amber for about 10 seconds before turning green (solid or blinking).
