Elements of the PC

All components necessary to operate your PC system are located on the front panel.

Front Panel Components

1. Eject button for optical
media.
2. Card reader (depending
on the system configura-
tion for  or 4 different
kinds of memory cards).
. Front USB port. USB
peripheral devices can be
connected here.
4. Optical drive (depending
on the system configura-
tion, e.g., DVD+/-RW or
CD-RW).
5. On/Off button with power LED. This button has several functions:
a. Pressing this button switches the computer on.
b. If you briefly press the button while the computer is switched on, current operating
systems will shut the computer down.
c. Pressing the button for longer than four seconds switches the computer off.
All data that has not been saved will be lost.
The behaviour of the on/off button and the power LED depends on the

BIOS settings and the operating system.
