Identify Movies, Music, Products & More with
Firefly
Use Firefly to scan physical products to identify the product and find more details and purchase
information, if available. You can also use Firefly to listen to audio in order to identify music, movies, and
TV shows.
Before you use Firefly, make sure your phone has an active wireless connection (either Wi-Fi or cellular).
Firefly can identify:
Phone numbers, e-mail address, and web addresses
Music, movies, and TV shows
Books, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, CDs, and video games
Packaged household products
Barcodes and QR codes
Note: Not all products and media can be identified by Firefly.
1. Press and hold the Firefly button.
This is the bottom button on the left side of the phone (which is also the Camera button).
2. Point the camera at a product to scan it, or hold your phone near the source of any audio. You will see
firefly lights on the screen hover around and highlight the object.
To identify songs, tap the Music icon.
To identify movies or TV shows, tap the Video icon.
Tip:
Hold your phone steady and close to the object you're trying to scan.
Tap the screen to help Firefly to focus on the object.
If available, try scanning a product barcode if Firefly is unable to recognize the front of the product.
3. If Firefly can identify an object, a label will appear at the bottom of the screen. If it can't, try scanning
again or submit feedback.
4. Tap the label for additional options, including a direct link to shop for the item or content on Amazon.
View & Delete Your Firefly History
When you search for content or a product with Firefly, it's automatically saved in your search history.
1. To view your search history, swipe up from the bottom of the Firefly window.
Your most recent searches will be displayed.
2. Select a recent search to learn more about the item or access additional features, such as sharing. Or,
tap Delete from History to remove the search from your history.
Note: There is currently no option to turn off your search history.
