If equipped with Keyless Access,
the boot may also be opened while
the vehicle is locked by pressing the
touch pad on the rear of the boot
above the number plate while the
RKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft)
of the rear of the vehicle.
If the vehicle is ever without power,
the boot area can still be accessed.
To access by the rear seat
pass-through door, if equipped:
1. Fold the rear armrest down and
open the pass-through door. See
Rear Seat Pass-Through Door
on page 3-11.
2. Reach inward through the
opening to locate the emergency
boot release handle. See
Emergency Boot Release
Handle following.
3. Pull the release handle toward
the front of the vehicle to open
the boot.
To access by the folding the rear
seat, if equipped:
1. Fold down the rear seatback.
See Rear Seats on page 3-10.
2. Reach inward through the
opening to locate the emergency
boot release handle.
3. Pull the release handle toward
the front of the vehicle to open
the boot.

Caution
Do not use the emergency boot
release handle as a tie-down or
anchor point when securing items
in the boot as it could damage the
handle.
There is a glow-in-the-dark
emergency boot release handle on
the boot lid. This handle will glow
following exposure to light. Pull the
release handle to open the boot
from the inside.
After use, return to the stored
position.
