    A. Music Keg Overview The Music Keg is the central brain of the Kenwood Excelon Music Keg car audio system. It is a computer that you install permanently in your vehicle. The Music Keg software and the music files themselves are contained on a cartridge that is inserted into the Music Keg.

    Music Keg. Do not open the DMS cartridge casing. Doing so will void your warranty. Only use the supplied cartridge with your Kenwood Music Keg—other cartridges with other drives inside will not work wit h your system.

    Wiring a Music Keg to Kenwood Head Units 1. Turn off the car and the radio. 2. Gain access to the rear portion of your car stereo head unit. Important note: This step may involve removing parts of the dashboard, depending on your car. If do not have experience installing car audio equipment, we recommend you seek the assistance of a professional car audio installer.

    Installing the Kenwood Excelon edition of the PhatNoise Music Manager software The Kenwood Excelon edition of the PhatNoise Music Manager software is included on the CD found in your package. You can use the software to create and manage playlists of MP3s, WMA and WAV files.

    With Your Kenwood Head Unit The Music Keg is controlled through the CD changer controls of your existing Kenwood head unit. To the head unit, the Music Keg appears like a large CD Changer. Playback of MP3 files is controlled via the next/previous track and next/previous disc buttons on the head unit.
