    Mineral buildup or sediment may have accumulated in the I I old water heater. This causes the water heater to be much heavier than normal and this residue, if spilled out, could I cause staining. ODisconnect the vent pipe from the draft hood where they connect to the water heater.

    • The location selected should be indoors as close as'practical to the gas vent or chimney to which the water heater vent is going to be connected, and as centralized with the _ater pip- ing system as possible. The water heater, as all water heaters, will eventually leak.

Certain water conditions will cause a reaction between this rod and the water. The most common complaint associated with the anode rod is one of a "rotten egg smell".
