Normally the above Step 1 will allow you to disarm the security system and unlock the doors to get into the vehicle, but it still have a
chance to fail as some interference may occur or your vehicle windshield glass is extra thick or has been installed with metallic Solar
Film.
If the above Step 1 fails to disarm the sytem and unlock the doors, you can use the provided mechanical spare key to manually unlock
the vehicle from the driver's door key cylinder to enter into the vehicle, and then go to the above step 2 to push start the engine.
EMERGENCY SYSTEM OVERRIDE (VALET) SENSOR
If the remote Smart Keys are NOT functioning due to drained battery, you can do the
below operations to disarm the security system and push start the engine:
Step 1: The Valet Sensor is mounted on the front windshield of driver side (inside vehicle),
If you are outside of the vehicle when the remote Smart key is NOT functioning, you need
to walk to the front windshield of the vehicle and put the remote Smart keys close to or onto
the part of windshield on which the Valet Sensor is sticke on, then it will disarm the security
system and unlock the doors, so you can enter into the vehicle.
Step 2: After you get into the vehicle, hold the remote Smart Keys up to the Valet Sensor
again, and press the Engine Start/Stop button with foot brake depressed to start the engine.
You can also push the Engine Start/Stop button without pressing foot brake to cycle between
ACC/ON/OFF modes.
Note: You may have to remove the back cover and take the inside battery out as it may
cause intermittent interference.
