    General Instructions Rechargeable batteries Use only rechargeable batteries as supplied. The use of other rechargeable batteries or battery packs may cause damage. When replacing the batteries, use only rechargeable battery pack, 3.6V, 300 mAh. Contact 2C Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd on 0800 74 66 37 for replacement batteries if your nearest dealer cannot supply you.
  • Page 5 Never use cleaning agents or solvents. Apart from occasionally cleaning the outer surfaces, no further care is required. The rubber feet of the base station are not resistant to all cleaning agents. Telkom cannot, therefore, be held responsible for damage to furniture etc. Belt Clip To fit or refit the belt clip, align sides with groves in sides of handset.

Power Adaptor Connecting the base station Telkom Palmtalk Set-up the base station within reach of a telephone socket and power outlet socket. Insert the power line cord into the socket marked for the power line cord at the rear of the base.

    Replacing the batteries When replacing the battery pack, use only rechargeable battery pack, 3.6V, 300mAh. Contact 2C Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd on 0800 74 66 37 for replacement batteries. To fit the battery pack into the handset, first remove the belt clip if it is in place, then press down on the upper edge of the battery compartment cover and slide it away from the handset.

    Tone Dialling Telkom Palmtalk only supports tone dialling. Normal use The display The display also provides symbol representation of all the main functions and the current status of the phone. Steady: Handset is in use Blinking: Phone is ringing Steady: When viewing Calls List this symbol is displayed to denote a new entry.

    Receiving Incoming Calls If you receive an incoming call, the handset will emit a ring signal. Press the button on the handset to take the call. To end the call, replace the handset on the base station or press the button on the handset.

    To improve reception you will need to move closer to the base station within 30 seconds until the tone stops, otherwise Telkom Palmtalk your may cut off the call.

    The phonebook Up to 40 telephone numbers and names can be stored in the phonebook. The maximum stored number length is 20 digits and each name can be up to 16 characters long. Entering numbers in the phonebook PHONE BooK Press the MENU button.

    Modifying numbers stored in the phonebook Press the MENU button. The display will show PHONE BOOK LIST Press the OK button. The display will show MODIFY Next press the button twice. The display will show Press the OK button again. The display will show the last entry.

    Deleting all the numbers from the phonebook Follow steps 1 to 4 in section 4.4. ERASE Press DELETE for 2 seconds. The display will show ALL? Press the OK button. You will hear a beep to confirm all entries have been deleted. Press and hold the CLR button for 2 seconds to return to standby mode.

    The list of callers In order to see the list of callers in the display, proceed as follows: Press the button to access the Calls List. The latest Calls List entry is displayed. NOTICE: If the number matches a phonebook entry, then it is replaced by the corresponding name in the phonebook.

    Recall The RECALL/DELETE button can be used for the RECALL function. Recall button with PABXs Telkom Palmtalk If you have connected your to a PABX, you can use all the special functions such as call forwarding and automatic callback if RECALL is required to activate these services.

    Enter the hour, e.g. For 4pm, press 1 then 6. The change will only be noticed once the second digit has been entered. Telkom Palmtalk (The uses the 24-hour clock). Press the OK button to confirm. The minute digits will flash.
