    DCM2200i Status Indicators - Front Edge Power Indicator: The green LED lights to indicate that the notebook is turned ON and blinks slowly when the notebook is in the Suspend-to-RAM (Standby) mode. This LED is OFF when the notebook is OFF or in the Suspend-to-Disk (Hibernation) mode.

    The AC adapter serves as a converter from AC (Alternating Current) to DC (Direct Current) power because your DCM2200i runs on DC power, but an electrical outlet usually provides AC power. It also charges the battery pack when connected to AC power.

    DCM2200i Battery Pack The battery pack is the internal power source for the notebook. It is rechargeable using the AC adapter. The operating time of a fully charged battery pack depends on how you are using the notebook. When your applications access peripherals often, you will experience a shorter operating time.

The Battery Power Indicator on the notebook is solid amber indicating that charging is in progress. Keep the DCM2200i power off while the battery is being charged.     DCM2200i Suspend Mode In “Stand by” (STR) and “Hibernation” (STD), the CPU clock is stopped and most of the notebook devices are put in their lowest active state. The suspend mode is the lowest power state of the notebook. The notebook enters suspend mode when the system remains idle for a specified amount of time or manually using the [Fn][F1] keys.

    DCM2200i BIOS Setup The System Setup (BIOS) program enables you to configure your notebook hardware and set security and power-savings options. The settings you choose are stored in battery-maintained CMOS memory that saves the information even when the computer’s power is turned off. When your notebook is turned back on, it is configured with the values found in this memory.

    The settings you select in your operating system might override similar settings in the BIOS. To run the BIOS, press [F2] when the DirectCM logo appears on the screen during system startup. The prompt shows up on the screen for only a few seconds. You must press [F2] quickly.
