    General instructions Warranty The period of guarantee starts when buying the device. Please verify the exact date by e.g. sales check, delivery note or invoice. Store the components carefully. Our warranty refers to our terms valid at the time when buying the receiver. In case you desire service please take or send the unit in to your specialized dealer.

    Safety Instructions Before installing your digital satellite receiver, all security and operating instructions should be read carefully. The User’s Manual should be retained for future reference. All operating and using instructions should be followed. Never allow children to operate this electrical device without supervisor. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Protect the receiver against humidity, heat and cold.

    Cleaning and care Before cleaning, unplug the device from the power supply. For cleaning the casing, please use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use any washing-up liquids that affect the casing. Do not spray a cleaner towards the receiver PLACEMENT In touch with certain furniture surfaces it may happen that the receiver’s rubber feet may rub off.

    Connecting the receiver For operating the receiver please follow the described steps for connecting the receiver. The corresponding printing is attached at the receiver’s rear panel (see drawing on page 7): Connect the supplied SCART cable between the main SCART socket on the TV and the TV SCART socket on the receiver.

  • Page 9 How to insert batteries Open the cover at the top of the rear side of the remote control. Insert two AAA type batteries (1.5V) . Attention: Take care of appropriate +/- polarity! Note: If the operational range of the remote control is getting smaller, it indicates that the batteries are almost consumed.

    Initial installation After reading the security tips and finishing the actions explained in the chapter “connecting the receiver” link the unit to the power supply system. By using the receiver for the first time the “welcome” display of the installation assistant appears. With its help you can carry out the most important installations in a very easy way.

    Operating the receiver ON/OFF You can switch the receiver on by pressing ; OK, CH s o r CH t   o r with one of the number buttons. The last activated channel will be displayed (e.g. 0015). The digital receiver is switched in Standbymode by pressing Tip: Only by pulling the power plug you can disconnect the receiver from the power supply system.

    Settings In the settings menu (Einstellungen) the initial functionability of the receiver is fixed. By connecting the receiver with the stored settings to a functionable, digitally able ASTRA- satellite dish the recipience of ASTRA programmes is immediately possible. Merely the derivation of the local time has eventually to be corrected in order to see the right displayed time and broadcasting time.

    Fittings This digital receiver has already been preadjusted and is ready-to-operate connected to the most satellite antennas and LNB configurations without further fittings. Changes in this menu have a direct effect on the receiving attributes and should only be undertaken by specialists. Choose line Installation by pressing CH st and confirm with OK.

    Channel search Move the cursor pressing CH st to the Satellit line and set the required satellite pressing VOL◄►. Move the cursor to line Suchmodus pressing CH st and VOL◄► and then select: Transponder: In this mode only one transponder is selected. Therefore you have to input the frequency, polarisation and symbol rate of transponder.

    Installation – downloading software This function enables you to set up the operating sorftware of the receiver as well as the menu texts and the channel list via Astra 19.2° Ost (East) under the condition you satellite antenna is preinstalled to receive this satellite. Your current channel list won´t be changed Attention: Updating the software your current operational software of the receiver will be erased and the new software version will be installed.

    Installation – motor settings You digital receiver is able to work with a motor driven antenna (DiSEqC-Level 1.2). You have the opportunity to control the corresponding motor with the available transmission line of the DiSEqC control. Firstly select the DiSEqC mode 1.2 in the LNB-Konfiguration menu. Then leave the menu pressing EXIT and select motor settings (Motoreinstellungen) CH ts pressing OK.

    Installation – Common Interface (CI) Common Interface (CI) is an interface for DVB receivers such as digital receivers (including set-top boxes). The digital receiver and CI modules can receive and process all unencrypted and certain encrypted digital satellite stations. Encrypted satellite channels can only be viewed with a CI module suitable for the encryption system and the approbriate smart card.

    Channel list You can configure the chronological order of the preprogrammed channels as you wish resp. erase the channels you don´t need. This function can be used for all TV and radio programmes. Move the cursor in the main menu pressing button CH s t to the channel list (Senderliste) line and press OK.

    Information Move the cursor within the main menu using the CH s t buttons to the Information line and press OK. Now the receive properties of the current programme are displayed. You can also activate the menu in the normal TV- or Radio mode using the blue or the yellow button of your remote control.

    EPG – Electronic Programme Guide DVB conformable channels offer the possibility to display informations about the title, the broadcasting time and the description. Pressing the i/EPG button displays the preview Vorschau. Here you can view all the broadcastings with the corresponding time broadcasted by the current channel. The current broadcasting is coloured.
