TEST INSTRUCTIONS

Important: As a 121.5 MHz signal is transmitted
during self-test, this test may be only executed
during the first five minutes period on any
hour.
Limit self-testing to the minimum necessary to
ensure confidence in operation of the satellite
PLB.
1. Unfold the antenna and raise it to vertical
position.
2. Lift lower cover up
3. Press test.
4. Check that the red control led flashes then, after
about 20 seconds the result is displayed as
follows:
- 1 blinking every 2 seconds indicates good
operation.
- 2 blinkings every 2 seconds indicates faulty
operation
Repeat 3 times to confirm failure before contacting
agent.
Self-test
Every month by the user (See Test Instructions).
Battery replacement
The battery pack must be replaced 6 years after
date of manufacture by an authorized agent with
original parts only available from KANNAD.
KANNAD declines responsibility and warranty fails
should other packs be installed.
Should the beacon be used for more than 30
minutes or for any reasons other than testing, the
battery pack must be changed.

• DO NOT EXPOSE TO TEMPERATURE OVER
90°C
• DO NOT SHORT CIRCUIT
Batteries included in these beacons are non-
hazardous for transport regulations.
Disposal of used batteries must be done according
to relevant regulation.
