    Die 2-Stufen-Authentifizierung funktioniert nach dem „Besitzen und Wissen”- Prinzip: Stufe 1 (Besitzen): es wird überprüft, ob der Nutzer eine Smartcard mit dem richtigen AES-Schlüssel besitzt. Stufe 2 (Wissen): es wird überprüft, ob der Nutzer die passende 8-stellige PIN kennt und somit berechtigt ist, diese Smartcard zu benutzen. Die Smartcard wird automatisch für immer gesperrt und unbrauchbar gemacht, sobald der 8-stellige PIN-Code acht Mal falsch eingegeben wurde.

    Anschluss an den USB 1.1 - Steckplatz Verbinden Festplatte Hilfe mitgelieferten USB-Y-Kabels mit Ihrem PC oder Laptop. Achten Sie dabei darauf, dass Sie zuerst die A- und B-Stecker an den PC oder Laptop (siehe Bild) und dann das Mini-USB-Kabel an die Festplatte anschließen.

    Inbetriebnahme der Festplatte Die notwendige Stromversorgung der Festplatte erfolgt über USB oder FireWire. Ein zusätzliches Netzteil ist in der Regel nicht erforderlich. Sollte über die von Ihnen verwendeten Anschlusskabel keine ausreichende Stromversorgung gewährleistet werden, kann als optionales Zubehör ein original DIGITTRADE Netzteil erworben werden. Nach korrektem Anschluss der DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY FESTPLATTE an den Computer leuchten zunächst die Status-LEDs „ACTIVE”, „STATUS”...

    2-Stufen-Authentifizierung Die DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY FESTPLATTE verfügt über einen 2-stufigen Authentifizierungsvorgang, der unbefugten Zugriff auf die Festplatte und Daten verhindert. Bei diesem Vorgang wird die Berechtigung des Anwenders überprüft, um einen Missbrauch ausschließen zu können. Die Überprüfung erfolgt in zwei Stufen nach dem “Besitzen und Wissen”- Prinzip: Stufe 1 (Besitzen): es wird überprüft, ob der Nutzer eine Smartcard mit dem richtigen AES-Schlüssel besitzt.

    Eingabe der PIN Nach der Inbetriebnahme und der erfolgreichen Erkennung einer gültigen Smartcard ist das Touchpad der DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY FESTPLATTE beleuchtet und für die PIN-Eingabe bereit. Jetzt kann die 8-stellige PIN eingegeben werden. Der werkseitig voreingestellte PIN-Code lautet: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 Geben Sie diese über das Tastenfeld ein.

    PIN ändern Um den PIN-Code Ihrer Smartcard zu ändern, gehen Sie wie folgt vor: 1) Stecken Sie die Smartcard in den dafür vorgesehenen Smartcard- Steckplatz (siehe Seite 10). 2) Drücken Sie die Taste „CHANGE PIN“ und anschließend die Taste „1“. 3) Bestätigen Sie die Eingabe mit „ENTER“.

    Administrator-PIN Die Adminstrator-PIN wird nur benötigt, um neue Smartcards für die DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY HDD zu initialisieren. Dies ist erforderlich, wenn beide Smartcards verloren gegangen oder defekt sind. Die Initialisierung von neuen Smartcards führt durch die notwendige Formatierung zu einem kompletten Datenverlust. bei der Auslieferung voreingestellte Administrator-PIN lautet: „8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1”.

    Partitionierung / Formatierung der Festplatte unter Windows Es besteht die Möglichkeit, die Festplatte in mehrere Partitionen einzuteilen. - Gehen Sie in die „Systemsteuerung” und klicken Sie „Verwaltung“ doppelt - Öffnen Sie die „Computerverwaltung“ und wählen Sie „Datenträgerver- waltung“. - Wählen Sie mit der Maus die externe Festplatte aus und öffnen Sie mit der rechten Maustaste das Kontextmenü.

Bestätigen Sie diesen Vorgang indem Sie auf „Fertig stellen“ klicken. Hinweis: Der neu partitionierte Bereich wird formatiert. Nach Abschluss der Formatierung wird die neue Partition automatisch vom System erkannt.

    Partitionierung / Formatierung unter MAC OS X Nachfolgend wird beschrieben, wie Sie das Dateisystem und die Partitionsgröße ändern können. - Öffnen Sie unter „Programme“ den Punkt „Dienstprogramme“ - Wählen Sie „Festplatten-Dienstprogramm“ aus. - Wählen Sie anschließend aus der linken Laufwerksübersicht die externe Festplatte aus.

    Partitionierung / Formatierung unter Linux Es besteht die Möglichkeit, die Festplatte in mehrere Partitionen einzuteilen. Die Vorgehensweise wird Ihnen hier auf der Basis von YaST von Suse Linux beschrieben. Dieser Vorgang ist unter anderen Linux- Dristributionen ähnlich. - Öffnen Sie zuerst YaST. Sie werden ggf. dazu aufgefordert sich zu authentifizieren.
  • Page 21 - Hier können gewünschten Datenträger auswählen, partitionieren oder bereits vorhandene Partionen bearbeiten oder löschen. - Zum Löschen der standardmäßig vorhandenen NTFS-Partition wählen Sie diese mit dem Cursor aus und klicken anschließend auf „Löschen”. - Sie werden vom System gefragt, ob Sie die Partition wirklich löschen wollen.
  • Page 22 - Entscheiden Sie sich, auf welchem Datenträger Sie eine neue Partition erstellen möchten. - Im nächsten Schritt werden Sie nach der Art der Partition gefragt. Hier empfiehlt es sich in den meisten Fällen, die „Primäre Partition” auszuwählen. - In diesem Fenster legen Sie alle Merkmale für die Partition fest. Sie können zwischen verschiedenen Dateisystemen wählen, die Größe bestimmen und bei Bedarf sogar den Einhängepunkt in Ihr Linux-System festlegen.

    Connection to USB 1.1 Port Connect the DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY HDD to your PC or laptop using the USB cable included in de- livery. Please note that the A- and B- plugs have to be connected first with the PC or Laptop as shown on the pic- ture before connecting the USB ca- ble to the HDD.

    If the HS128/256 is connected correctly to the computer the LED “ACTIVE”, “STATUS” and “ERROR” flash once. The hard disk is now ready for use, but still needs to get unlocked. For this you need one of the provided Smart Cards and the PIN.

    Two-Factor Authentication The DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY HDD functions with a two-factor authentication process to avoid unauthorized access to the HDD and data stored on it. With this process the authorization of the user will be verified to exclude misuse. The verfication works with two factors according to the “Having and Knowing Method”: Factor 1 (Having): verifies if the user has a Smart Card with the correct AES key.

    PIN Entry After you have activated the DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY HDD success- fully and inserted a valid Smart Card the keypad will be lighted and the HDD is ready for PIN entry. Now you can enter the 8-digit PIN. The preset factory PIN is “1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8”, after you entered the PIN, press the “Enter”...

    Changing the PIN Follow these steps to change the PIN of your Smart Card : 1) Insert the Smart Card into DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY HDD (see page 37). 2) Press the “CHANGE PIN” button and afterwards the “1” button. 3) Confirm the entry with “ENTER”. The “STATUS” LED will flash four times.

    Administrator PIN The administrator PIN is required only to initialize new Smart Cards for the DIGITTRADE HIGH SECURITY HDD. This feature is neccessary if both Smart Cards got lost or are defective. If new Smart Cards are initialized, all data stored on it will be destroyed because the hard disk needs to be formatted with process.

    Partitioning / Formatting using Windows Please follow the instructions to customise the file system, partition size and number of partitions. - Go to “control panel” and double click on “Administrative Tools”. - Open the “Computer Management” and choose “Disk Management”. - Choose with your mouse the external HDD and open the context menu using the right mouse button.
  • Page 43 To partition the HDD choose the item “Shrink Volume”. - Type in the desired memory capacity (in MB). - An unassigned field will be shown in the administration display. - Mark this unassigned field with the mouse and open the context menu with the right mouse button and choose the item “New Simple Volume”.
