Do not add fuel while the engine is running or hot. If fuel is spilled in, on or around the vehicle, wipe it up immediately. Flush out any fuel spilled in the vehicle with water and allow it to drain out through the drain plug holes.

    Centaur Service Manual Engine System Throttle Control Vehicle speed is controlled by the accelerator pedal. To increase vehicle speed, press on the accelerator pedal. To decrease vehicle speed, remove pressure on the accelerator pedal. Adjusting The Throttle Cable Assembly With the engine stopped, push accelerator to the floor plate and secure.     Centaur Service Manual Engine System Oil, Filter And Lubrication Information ENGINE OIL INFORMATION Checking the Engine Oil Level To check the oil during an operating period, shut the engine off, let it cool down and allow the oil time to drain into the sump before checking the oil level. Position the vehicle so the engine is level.

    Engine System Centaur Service Manual Changing Engine Oil During the initial engine break-in period, change the oil after the first 25 hours of operation. After the break-in period, change the engine oil every 150 operating hours, or more frequently if the vehicle is operated in dusty or dirty conditions. Draining the Engine Oil Each engine is equipped with a drain plug for draining the oil.

    Centaur Service Manual Engine System Filter Information Air Filter The Centaur is equipped with a filter element housed in an air cleaner assembly located above the clutch. Check the paper air filter element every 100 hours of operation or more often under extremely dusty or dirty conditions.

Photo EN-1 Before disconnecting any radiator coolant hoses from the liquid cooled system, be prepared to collect any antifreeze that may still be present in the system, even after you have drained the radiator itself.

  • Page 42 Engine System Centaur Service Manual Turbo Diesel Radiator (950DT) The radiator on the turbo diesel CENTAUR, is a larger capacity radiator, and is installed and configured differently than ones used on the gas (950G) or regular 26 H.P diesel (950D) model versions.

Take note of the spacers used on the left mount and be sure that they are reinstalled during assembly. Photo EN-13 Unbolt the radiator bracket at the main vehicle frame at 2 locations.

Install the radiator assembly to the vehicle and bolt into place using the specified hardware detailed in the Centaur Parts Manual. Bolt the radiator at 2 locations on the main vehicle frame as well as the 2 lo- cations on the upper frame.

Removing the engine Remove the engine cover to access the engine and transmission compartment. Disconnect the battery wiring and remove the battery.     Centaur Service Manual Engine System 10. Install the front and rear engine mounting brackets. These are mounted to the engine block by a total of 15 bolts and lock washers. There are 7 securing the rear bracket and 8 fastening the front bracket. When fastening the rear bracket, make sure to reinstall the shims required between the engine bracket and engine block.
