Parametric EQ Explained A Parametric EQ (PEQ) is a little harder to user than a Graphical EQ (GEQ), but it is a much more powerful tone-shaping tool. Unlike a GEQ, a PEQ gives you full control over all three EQ parameters : Gain, Frequency, and Q (bandwidth). Gain knob allows you to boost or cut your signal at a specific frequency.
