JOYSTICKS
To play most games on your computer, you need
a set of hand controllers, more commonly
known
asjoysticks.
Many games can be oper
ated from the keyboard of your computer, but
the use ofjoysticks allows greater control of the
games with less effort.

BASIC also possesses
commands for tracking the action of thejoy
sticks; this feature allows you to use thejoysticks
with programs that you may create.
Eachjoystick allows movement in multiple direc
tions by means of a tracking handle; a "fire" but
ton, used to fire weapons, is included. TI Joy-
sticks cost about $35 per pair If you prefer cus
tomjoysticks, an alternate choice is the
WICO
Joystick which requires a TI adapter sold sepa
rately for about $13. The WICO Joystick features
an oversized bat handle, a palm-sized controller
base, and two weapons-firing buttons one is
mounted at the top of the bat handlej. WICO

Joysticks are not inexpensive about $30 each;
however, if you are an avid game enthusiast,
you may prefer their design.
