    The AQ500h solves this solution by requiring all users to authenticate themselves before they are allowed to use the Internet. Authentication is simple and easy, all users need to attempt to connect to some web site, and the AQ500h will automatically redirect them to an authentication page, where they enter their username and password.

  • Page 6: Physical Specification

    Installation Installation of the AQ500h is simple: 1. Plug in the network cable from the WAN interface of the AQ500H to your DSL modem or cable modem. 2. Plug in a network cable from your computer to one of the four LAN interfaces on the AQ500h.

    (LAN), you will need to know how to change the IP, net mask, and gateway of your client computer, or at least know how to get that information to update your AQ500h should your IP, net mask, and gateway of your virtual server should ever change.

    System Profile This page shows the administrator basic network information about how the AQ500h is configured. DHCP IP Assignment This page shows what IP addresses have been assigned by the AQ500h and to which MAC addresses they have been assigned.

    AX500h User manua Network Setup Under these pages, the administrator could configure the network interfaces. WAN Interface This page allows the administrator to configure the WAN interface. Just pick the desired mode to get WAN’s IP and enter the pertinent information for that option.

    AX500h User manua LAN Interface This page allows the administrator to configure the LAN interface and DHCP server. Enter pertinent information for all the fields and click “Update” to finalize the configuration. Administrator could enable or disable the DHCP server, assign fixed IP for a specific MAC address and control the PnP mechanism.

    AX500h User manua Port Trigger When the firewall is enabled, all ports, unless specified under Firewall Rules, will be closed. This is very inconvenient for those services that receive responding packets on uncertain high range ports. Therefore, we have this port trigger function that opens up a certain port, or ports, automatically when in need.

    Software DMZ This page allows the administrator to add computers into the software DMZ. The AQ500h is designed such that the software DMZ supports only IP addresses that are in the subnet of the WAN interface. If you wish to put servers into your LAN using a virtual IP, please see the section on One to One NAT.

    AX500h User manua DDNS Under this page, the administrator can fill in the Manage Name 、 Manage Server 、User Name、Password、IP Address and Domain Name in the page, or click the Status> DDNS to inquire, delete, or modify. Multi DMZ This function allows the administrator to map real IP addresses to virtual IP addresses in the LAN of the device.

    AX500h User manua Alias IP Alias IP function allows the administrator to set more than one IP for the LAN interface. In effect, the machine can have more than one LAN subnet. Use the following picture as an example; you can see that an Alias IP of 172.16.2.254/24 has been set for this machine.

    AX500h User manua Change WAN MAC address Some ISPs bind user accounts to a specific MAC addresses. Therefore we provide this simple and easy-to-use function for the user to change the machine’s WAN MAC address when needed. Just enter the new WAN MAC and click on Update, the system will write-in the new MAC and then automatically reboot to allow the configuration to take effect.

    Service Management This page allows the administrator to add new port filtering rules or remove existing rules on the AQ500h, as well as enable or disable the firewall entirely. There are two default rules for the firewall that cannot be deleted, ICMP and other services.

    Access Rules This page allows the administrator to enable or disable existing port filtering rules on the AQ500h. To enable, simply check the box next to the service/port listed and click update at the button. To disable, uncheck the box next to the service/port listed and click update.

    Anti-DoS This page allows the administrator to enable or disable built in anti-DoS functionality of the AQ500h. Certain DoS attacks are the consequence of using legitimate services and as such the administrator can configure the minimum rate after which the device will trigger the anti-DoS functionality.

    AX500h User manua Web URL Filter This function allows the administrator to block/log any access to any website by matching and filtering the IP or FQDN of the target site. This function provides fuzzy or exact match for FQDN filtering. It does not only take exact FQDN such as www.yahoo.com, it also allows input of regular expressions that contain wild characters for fuzzy match.

    AX500h User manua you want to delete and then click on Submit to delete the selected items. Clicking the Edit icon will bring the corresponding entry back to the Add New Filter String text fields. You can then change the information as needed and then click on Update to update this entry.

    AX500h User manua The Query button allows you to search the filter list. Just enter the IP or FQDN you want to search and click on this button. If a match is found, the information will show up on the Add New Filter String text fields. The Filter String List will be separated into pages when there are too many entries to show on one page.

    AX500h User manua IP Management This function allows the administrator to set traffic limit on a specific IP address. Select the specific service to set the limit on, enter the IP address and its range, set the priority and then finally set the traffic limit for both upload link(LAN to WAN) and download link(WAN to LAN).

    Administrator This page allows the administrator to change information about the administrator account, as well as open the AQ500h for remote administration. Just enter the new information and check the desired options then click on “Update” to make to change.

    AX500h User manua UPNP This page allows the administrator to enable or disable the UPNP functionality of the AQ500h. SNMP The network environment has become more and more diverse and complicated these days. Debugging and management of networking devises has also become increasingly difficult. SNMP is a framework that manages network devices over UDP protocol.

    AX500h User manua 『Set Community』: When a community is set, the devices of the same community could be accessed. 『Trusted host』: Only the host with this IP could access the devices in the community. Username and Password: username and password is required when using SNMP v3. The password is usually longer than 8 characters.

    This page allows the administrator to restore settings from a backup file to the AQ500h. Click on “Browse” and a menu of working directory on the local machine will pop up. Open the file to restore and then click on “Restore” to restore the machine.

    AX500h User manua Diagnostic Under this page, the administrator could use some web diagnostic tools to diagnose the machine. First, choose the network diagnose tools, put in the IP or Domain Name, then click on the Update button to see the result.

    Access Control This function allows the administrator to control user’s access to the Internet through AQ500h. When the authentication mechanism is enabled, the user’s browser will be redirected to an authentication page where they will have to enter a valid account name and password to get access to the Internet. Once authenticated, the user will get access to the internet instantly and a small window will pop up to show the user the remaining credit.

Type: Set the billing rule by Data (the maximum volume is 2002 Mbyte) or Time (the maximum day is 24305 days). Expired Info: If the user doesn’t activate the account by the time, after the time-limit, the account will expire.

Please note that certain of our special features, such as remote centralized management via CMS, utilize some proprietary protocols.
