Torque settings QUICk RELEASE Diamondback recommend the use of a torque wrench, whenever working on your bike. This will ensure that all nuts and bolts are tightened using wHeels the correct amount of force, so preventing damage to components. Before operating the quick release, open up the distance between the brake pads so that the tyre doesn’t get stuck Wheel centring between them.
So before your first ride, stand next to your bike and push it backwards and forwards, gently applying the brakes so that you get an idea of the braking forces involved. Always apply the rear brake a fraction of a second ahead of the front brake, especially in the wet.

28. Don’t ride a bike with badly adjusted gears. If you can’t rely on finding the right gear every time, if the chain keeps jumping off or you’re stuck in a high gear, it’s only too easy to lose control.
