{Warning
Do not drive with the tailgate open
or ajar, e.g. when transporting
bulky objects, since toxic exhaust
gases could enter the vehicle.
Caution
Before opening the tailgate check
overhead obstructions, such as a
garage door, to avoid damage of
the tailgate. Always check the
moving area above and behind the
tailgate.
Note
When engine is running, tailgate
can open with shift lever in "P"
position (automatic transmission) /
parking brake is engaged (manual
transmission).
Note
The installation of certain heavy
accessories onto the tailgate may
affect its ability to remain open and
opening performance.
Closing
To close the tailgate, push it down so
it latches securely.
Do not press the touchpad while
closing. It can cause opening again.
Caution
Make sure your hands and any
other body parts, as well as those
of other persons are completely
away from the tailgate closure
area.
