4. CONNECTION CONFIGURATIONS - SCORING SYSTEM SEPAR ATE FROM FCS (REQUIRED)
Set up the computers and FCS routers at the appropriate fields (competition and pit). Important: Do not place the
FCS router on the floor for competition. It must be placed higher than the competition floor for optimum signal
performance. Place the scoring router near the competition area. Plug your computers, routers and USB hubs into
a hard power source. Do not run your laptop computers on battery power.
Make Ethernet connections illustrated below. A floor layout illustration can be found in the appendix portion of
this document.
FCS Router: Port 1 & 2 to FCS computers (use
port 1 only for 1 field event)
Optional Scoring Router: Connect the scoring
computer to port 1 of the scoring router
(only if using optional scoring system
configuration).
Note: The scoring system may be
configured to allow teams to access match
information mobile devices. The use of a
dedicated scoring router protects the FCS
from unauthorized access.
Rev 10 1/23/2013
