    E2M28 and E2M30 Rotary Vacuum Pumps Description The BOC Edwards E2M28 and E2M30 pumps are shown in Figure 1. Refer to Figure 1 for item numbers PAGE in brackets in the following descriptions. The E2M28 and E2M30 pumps are two-stage, direct drive, sliding vane pumps. The pump is oil-sealed and designed for reliable, long-term operation in both laboratory and industrial environments.

    Safely route any electrical supply cables so that they cannot accidentally trip people. • You must ensure that the E2M28 or E2M30 pump is suitable for your application. If you have any doubts as to the suitability of the pump for your application, refer to the BOC Edwards guidelines on vacuum pump and vacuum system safety (see the Associated Publication at the end of the contents list at the front of this manual).

    E2M28 and E2M30 Rotary Vacuum Pumps System design Consider the following points when you design your pumping system: PAGE • Use a suitable inlet-valve to isolate the pump from your vacuum system if you need to allow the pump to warm up before you pump condensable vapours, or if you need to maintain vacuum when the pump is switched off.
