Installation A surround system must be of the highest quality to realize the full potential of the FAP V1. The entire system cannot have any weak links in the audio chain, and must be properly installed and adjusted. To hear the true "tube sound" of your FAP V1, the use of tube electronics including program source and power amplifiers is highly recommended. -

Connect the L and R channel outputs on the CD player to the CD input jacks. Audio Recorder A recording device such as a cassette deck, MD recorder, DAT deck or CD recorder can be connected to the FAP V1 using following method. -

Use the audio jacks labeled 7.1 INPUTS to connect the FAP V1 to an 7.1 Multichannel device such as the Fosgate Audionics FAP T1 Preamp/Processor. The input jacks on the FAP V1 are: Left Front, Center, Right Front, Left Side, Right Side, Left Back, Right Back, and Subwoofer. Use the following diagram for connecting your system. -

Connection F F A A P P V V 1 1 SPEAKER CONFIGURATION You are now ready to configure the FAP V1 for your particular loudspeaker system. Before proceeding please read the following information carefully: Speaker Placement The best speaker placement for your particular room will depend on its size, furnishings, seating arrangement, the acoustical properties of the space, including wall type, coverings, and various other factors. - Page 22 Subwoofer Subwoofer placement can frequently be a trial and error affair as bass energy set up "standing waves" in most every room. These standing waves can cause areas with too much bass, areas with too little bass, and areas in between. Step 1: Ask your friend or family member to either hold the SPL meter or stand near the FAP V1 to adjust the channel level trim controls. • Avoid mars and scratches when moving the FAP V1 or handling items near the FAP V1. Wood is a soft material that can become damaged when hit by other objects. If you need to move the FAP V1 ask for a friend to assist lifting and guiding the FAP V1 to the desired location, if possible wrap the FAP V1 in a protective cloth while moving or transporting your unit. -
