TROUBLESHOOTING - UNABLE TO CONNECT TO A NETWORK
If you have trouble connecting your radio to the network, try
the following steps to eliminate possible problems -
Connection problems:
1.
Check that a computer can join the network and browse
the Internet. If this is not possible, then resolve the
connection problem so that the computer can connect
successfully before attempting to connect your Radio.
2.
The problem may be due to poor signal strength from
the wireless access point. To check this, move your Radio
close to the Wireless Access Point and re-try connection.
3.
If you can't find the name (ESSID) of your wireless
network when scanning for a network, it may have been
hidden. You can either turn on the name (a setting on
your wireless access point) or choose the 'Enter Network'
option to enter the name manually.
4.
In a wireless network, your wireless access point may
be set up so that only equipment with registered MAC
addresses are allowed to connect. In this case, you will
have to add the MAC address of your radio to the list
of permitted equipment. stored in the wireless access
point. The MAC address of your radio can be found under
the 'View Config' option of the 'Network Config' menu.
5.
If your network includes a DHCP server, ensure that your
radio is set to Auto (DHCP) under the 'Network Config'
options (this is the factory default setting).
6.
If you follow the instructions to connect to a network
automatically and see the message 'Network Error,
Timout getting IP address' , it may be that your network
is set up for manual address allocation. In this case, press
the . button to clear the error message, then refer to
page 10 for manual address setting instructions.
NOTE:- In the event that you continue to have problems
with connecting to your network, consult your network
administrator who can advise on the cause of the problem.
