    Technical hardware description 3 Technical hardware description 3.1 General information To slow down the time for comfortable testing of PCI-cards we developed the PCI- Extender card. A master switch, on one side of the extender card, switches all PCI- Bus conductors via relays and power supply, over the MOS-FET, to the upper slot. Because of this, it is possible to plug and unplug the PCI cards while the PC is in operation.

The +5V operating voltage at pin 19, is not switched by the MOSFET and is therefore available independently from the setting of the main and the DIP switch. All the other operating voltages will be controlled by the setting on the DIP switch.

    Technical hardware description 3.4 DIP switch settings The Bus signals are located on the upper slot when the Relays are active and when the switch “SW1” is set to “on”. Similarly, the operating voltage are sent through the MOSFETS to the top only when the switch “SW1” resp. “SW2” is set to “off” and the main switch is on.
