4.5.1 Menu Language
Select your preferred menu language from the list of
available languages.
 English
 Traditional Chinese
 Japanese
 Spanish
 French
 German
 Italian
 Korean
 Dutch
 Simplified Chinese
4.5.2 Text Encoding
Text encoding for external subtitles (SRT).
 Unicode (UTF8): Standard encoding suitable for most languages.
 Simplified Chinese (GBK): Select this when your subtitles are in Simplified Chinese.
4.5.3 Time
Select Manual to set the date and time of the R2-3500 media player. Although this is only required
for scheduled recording, we recommend always setting the correct date and time in order for the
other time stamps, especially during recording, to be accurate.
Note
If the time is reset to factory default after a power loss or when the power adapter has been
removed, replace the battery for the real time clock (CR2032 battery).
4.5.4 HDD Format
Disk utility to format the internal SATA hard drive. It is recommended to format the drive using this
utility and set the FAT32 partition large enough to store all the recordings. The NTFS partition will
be read only and can not be used to record videos.
 Cancel: Returns to System menu without formatting the drive.
 HDD Format: Opens the disk utility with further options to format the drive.
4.5.5 Restore Default
Restores all settings back to factory default. Resetting the configuration is recommended after
each firmware update.
