  • Page 25: Chapter 1 Installation

    Installation Overview The 1U Server is the recommended hardware platform for storage network management software, Enterprise Fabric Connectivity Manager (EFCM). The latest version of EFCM (or the OEM version) is shipped pre-loaded on the 1U Server, which exceeds the minimum recommended hardware platform for EFCM.

    Server, you will need access to a keyboard video monitor (KVM) as there is no entry pad nor display on the 1U Server. (The KVM is not supplied with the 1U Server.)     The gateway addresses are the addresses of the local router for the corporate intranet. NOTE: Since the customer will use EFCM, which is pre-loaded, on the 1U Server, the customer may want to use a computer name that reflects the purpose of the server such as EFCM_server.

    Recommended Backup and Restore Process supplied CD/RW-DVD drive. The backup location is set in EFCM from the SAN menu, Options, Backup Output Directory. Once the backup feature has been configured, data is automatically backed up to the specified backup directory location.
