Setting Up Your Turntable

Step 1: Assembling Your Turntable

1. Rotate the turntable to the drive motor spindle.
2. Remove the tape and ribbon from the belt, and stretch the belt
around the drive motor spindle. Do not twist the belt.
3. Slowly rotate the turntable six or seven times, then check the belt.
If it is not secure, reposition it and repeat. If the belt slips under the
platter, do not attempt to remove the platter. Take it to your local
RadioShack store for assistance.
4. Set the LINE OUT/PHONO OUT switch. If you
are uncertain which output your connecting device
requires, refer to its user's guide.
5. Place the rubber mat, ridges down, on the platter.

Step 2: Connecting Your Turntable

Before connecting your turntable to an audio device, turn off the
device.
1. Plug the turntable's white and red plugs into the device's matching
audio jacks.
2. Connect the turntable's ground wire to the device's GND or earth
terminal.
3. Plug the turntable's power cord into a standard AC outlet.
Caution: To prevent electric shock, the plug's blades are polarized and
Do not power the turntable until you complete all other connections.
NOTE: The LIN (lead in), RET (auto return), and SW (tone arm
switch) screws on the turntable's base are set at the factory
and should not be adjusted.

Using Your Turntable

1. Open the dust cover and place the record on the turntable. To play a 45 RPM record, place the 45 RPM adapter over the center spindle.
2. Press SPEED in or out to set the turntable's speed (33 1/3 or 45 RPM).
3. Set the record radius switch on top of the turntable to 6" or 12" based on the record size.
4. Remove the stylus cover and press PLAY. The tone arm automatically moves to the beginning of the record
and starts to play. When the record ends, the tone arm automatically returns to its resting position.
5. To stop playing the record sooner, or if the tone arm does not automatically return when it reaches the end of
the record, press STOP.

Manually Cueing the Arm

1. Press CUE to raise the tone arm.
2. Move the tone arm to a spot directly over the desired part of the record. The turntable starts to rotate.
3. Press CUE again. The tone arm slowly lowers and the record plays.
