The mains power can be between 100 VAC and 240 VAC; AC 50 / 60 Hz. 2.1.3 Video Inputs The e1600 unit has 16 Composite Video Inputs. The Video Inputs are used to connect PAL or NTSC video cameras. The unit will auto-detect the connected video sources.
To perform the initial configuration of the unit connect it to a PC using a cross over network cable. You now need to configure the PC to use an IP address within the same range as that of the e1600.
Your settings will not be saved to the e1600 until you click the Save to Unit button. To save the changes to the e1600 unit you have to click the Save to e1600 option at the top of the page.
Check the Enable access to Video View without logon tick box if you wish to allow video to be viewed without having to log in to the system. Click Apply to apply changes to the page and then click Save to e1600 option at the top of the page to save your changes to the unit.

3.9 Discovery and Remote Control Using Synxplorer You can use Synectics Synxplorer application to discover and remotely control e1600 units. Synectics Synxplorer application is available for download from www.knowledge.synxtechnical.com Run Synxplorer.exe and then click the refresh button to initialize and load the device list. The Synxplorer window will show a list of the serial numbers, models and network parameters for all the devices active on the network.
PSN and Synergy Setup for e1600 This section explains how to add an e1600 onto an ePSN and how to setup Synergy so that Synergy clients can view video from the e1600 channels. 4.1 RMS Configuration To configure RMS, double click its icon in the system tray. You will be prompted to enter a password: Type 5ynect1c for the password and click OK.
4.1.2 Configure Streams You now have to configure the streams on the encoder. An e1600 encoder can support a maximum of 16 streams. You can add the streams one by one. However if there are multiple streams it is easier to add them as a batch.
You can edit various stream settings in the Synectics Streaming Recorder by double clicking the value you wish to edit and selecting a value from the combo box or typing in the new value in the edit field displayed (this will depend on the value you are editing. For settings controlled by check boxes (e.g.
4.2.1 Configure DVR Type If you already have a Synectics DVR type configured as described here you can skip this step. In the System Setup dialog select Video and then Setup DVR Types from the context menu. In the Setup DVR Types dialog that is launched click the Add button. You should have your cameras and camera types already configured as usual in Synergy. But you need to modify the camera types for the ones you wish to use with e1600. To modify camera types, in the System Setup dialog select Cameras and then Setup Camera Types.

There are two lists here: one for the Streams Saved in Synergy and one for Streams Defined on Chunker. If the e1600 units have already been setup in RMS the RMS settings from the PSN will be picked up and the lists will be populated with them.
