    Chapter 1Product Overview GYL-W2211 Wireless Powerline Modem is the newest product of power line solution launched by Shenzhen Geeya Technology Co., Ltd. This Wireless Powerline Modem combines the 802.11n and the antenna technologies perfectly to maximize the rate and coverage of wireless signal with the highest physical layer transmission rate of 200Mbps, which is far better than the other 802.11g product devices.

    2.2Logging on to Network Management Interface The default gateway IP of Geeya GYL-W2211 is 192.168.170.1. Before logining on to Network Management Interface, users must set the terminal of Geeya GYL-W221 into 192.168.170.XXX: (XXX is 2~254) as its fixed IP. Take Windows Operating System as an example, select Use the following IP address (S) in Local Connections Property Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

    2.In the Login Window pops up, type the Username: admin, Password: admin, and then click Login.Here, you can select the language of Management Interface if needed. 3.If the username and password typed by the user are correct, the browser will enter the main interface of administrator mode.

    Chapter 3Running Status 3.1Running Status You can view the router LAN interface status, wireless status and the running time of devices in the page of running status. LAN interface status: display information of LAN interface. MAC address: display the MAC address of router LAN interface. IP address: display IP address of LAN interface.

IP address: the login IP address of this powerline modem LAN port. The factory address is set to 192.168.170.1.

    Chapter 5 PLC Setting 5.1PLC Setting The user can scan and manage the PLC device in the PLC setting page. Network name: the user can set network name, either “default” or “private” is OK. Please make sure device names in your network are the same, so as to enable data transmission.

    The member list: this part is used to display the related information about power line device in network. Connecting rate: displays connecting rate of current adapters and corresponding remote adapter. Connecting status: displays the status of device in this bar. The device is connected with your network if the bar displays Connect.

    Channel: the current channel used by router. Selecting other valid working channels from drop-down list. The optional item is between 1-13, the user can also search the best channel by clicking Best Channel Searching. Broadcast (SSID): Enable by default. Select Deactivate to ban broadcasting SSID by router, in that way, wireless client is unable to scan the SSID of router.

    6.3Wireless MAC Address Filter Wireless Setting Wireless MAC Address Filter The feature of wireless MAC address filter is based the permission that allows or prohibits the assigned client to connect with wireless network. Policy: Allow means only allow those clients who are in the list to access, Reject means only prohibit those clients who are in the list to connect.

And you can continue adding the wireless MAC address which you want to allow. For example: the computer whose wireless WLAN card address is 00:04:10:12:27:00 has no access to your wireless network.

    6.4Wireless Advanced Setup Wireless Setting Wireless Advanced Setup Options of Wireless Advanced Setup detail some performance and feature configuration of some devices. The users who are familiar with wireless network may configure the more fitted setup. However, it is advisable that ordinary users do not modify these setups.

    5.RTS Threshold: set the RTS door threshold of packet. If the length of packet exceeds the RTS door threshold, the router will send the RTS to its destination to consult.     6.6WPS Setting Wireless Setting WPS Setting WPS is the protection setting of Wi-Fi. You can add the wireless clients to the network easily by this setting without any specific key configuration. For example, the configuration of SSID, safe mode and password etc. To use this wizard to add the wireless clients to the enabled WPS wireless router, requires that this clients shall support WPS feature.

    Note: Channels among wireless routers are needed when using WDS features. The encryption method and key should be consistent with each other. IP address should be in the same network segment. Wireless AP feature will be off when using bridge mode.

    Note: to use the function, you need to enter the BIOS when you start the computer, and set the Low Power Mode to the Off state, the Remote Wake Up function to Enable with Boot to NIC, and then change the Wake on LAN Mode value of the advanced property of the computer network card to Magic Packet, as shown below.

Click the Save in the Export Setting to export the configuration information of the current power line AP.

Appendix One: the Explanation of Common Wireless Nouns Channel If there is only a AP in the same area, you can select any AP channel and set to Auto Select by default. If there are several APs in the same area, you need to configure to each channel to fully reduce the frequency interference of APs adjacent to each other.

The rate of wireless transmission is highly 300Mbps. The rate of Power line transmission is highly 200Mbps. Provide a Ethernet (LAN) interface of 10/100M self-adapting which is connected with the LAN.
  • Page 32 Please check whether the network wire which connects the wireless powerline modem device is good, and whether its corresponding network wire interface indicator is bright? Sometimes it does not mean the network wire is passing when the indicator is bright. Please check whether the PC sets IP segment the same as the wireless powerline modem gateway (the default gateway IP is 192.168.170.1, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, see the section 2.2 Logging on to Network Management Interface for the setting process).

    Appendix Four: Clear Wireless Configuration Files After changing the wireless settings of the wireless powerline modem, the corresponding configuration files will not change. This may cause some phenomenon such as disconnection or connection exception and so on. So you should clear the corresponding configuration files when you change the wireless settings of the router.
