MAINTENANCE
A well-maintained motorcycle is essential for
safe, economical, and trouble-free riding.
It will also help reduce air pollution. Careful
pre-ride inspections and good maintenance
are especially impor tant because your
motorcycle is designed to be ridden over
rough off-road terrain.
T o h e l p y o u p r o p e r l y c a r e f o r y o u r
motorcycle, this section of the manual
provides a Maintenance Schedule.
The ser vice intervals in this schedule are
based on average riding conditions.
More frequent service is needed if you subject
your motorcycle to severe use (such as
competition) or ride in unusually wet or dusty
areas.
Frequent ser vicing of the air cleaner is
especially impor tant to help you avoid a
possible costly engine repair.
If your motorcycle overturns or becomes
involved in a crash, be sure your Honda dealer
inspects all major parts, even if you are able
to make some repairs.
