    1. Before You Start Please check USB Adapter package content: • USB Adapter • USB Adapter Stand with 1.5M USB cable • CD-ROM containing software driver and documentation If any of the items appear to be damaged or missing, please contact your supplier.

  • Page 5: Step1: Software Installation

    2. Step 1: Software Installation Insert the CD-ROM, and it will auto-run as shown in the following picture. It is required to install the software first, prior to hardware installation.

    2.1 For Windows XP users Step 1: Please click “Install” and the InstallShield Wizard will start the installation. Just follow the instructions for the installation. Step 2: Click “Next” to continue the installation.
  • Page 7 Step 3: After you click “Next”, the system will start to install the program as shown in the following picture. Step 4: Click “Finish” to complete the installation and restart your computer again.

    2.2 For Windows 2000 users Please follow page 6 steps 1 and 2 to start the installation. After that, please ignore the Windows hardware message and click “Yes” to continue the installation. The computer will complete the installation as shown in the page 7 step 3 and 4.

    3. Step 2: Hardware Installation Before you start to do the hardware installation, please plug the USB Adapter to the Stand socket and the other end of the Stand cable to your computer.

    3.1 For Windows XP users For Windows XP users, the system will detect a new device when you plug the cable into the USB socket. Step 1: Please select “View Available Wireless Networks” from taskbar and click “enter”. You will need to wait while the USB Adapter looks for available wireless networks.
  • Page 11 Step 3: Select the appropriate wireless network and click “connect”. The USB Adapter will be connected to the wireless network you select.

    3.2 For Windows 2000 users For Windows 2000 users, the system will detect a new device when you plug the cable into the USB socket and start installation as shown in the following picture. Please ignore the Windows hardware message and click “Yes” to continue.

    4. Step 3: Configuration To connect the wireless network, please complete the following steps: 1. Cancel your browser’s proxy setting. Open your browser and click Tool Internet Options Connections LAN Settings Deselect Proxy setting as shown in the following figure.

    4.1 WPA/WPA2 Set Up for Windows XP Before WPA/WPA2 setup, it is required to install patch file in the CD- ROM. Different OS systems will require different patch files. If your Operation System is Windows XP-SP1, please select the file “WindowsXP-KBB22603-x86-ENU.exe” and complete the installation.
