    Erase is performed by utilizing executing fi rmware level command contained in most modern ATA/IDE/EIDE/Ultra ATA and SATA and PATA drives. In the event that Secure Erase is not available for your particular model of drive, the Digital Shredder will default to using a compliant overwrite algorithm.

    You can also use the Digital Shredder to prepare a drive for reuse by scripting the Digital Shredder to partition and reformat the drive. The Digital Shredder also provides the user the ability to copy a binary image of one drive to another.

    Stylus – For use on touch screen; you may also use your fi nger. Never use anything sharp which may damage the screen such as a pen or pencil. Carrying Handle - Integrated carrying handle on the top of the Digital Shredder allows the device to be transported in the fi eld.

    Entering Data into your Digital Shredder The included stylus should be used to enter data into the Digital Shredder. It is allowable to press the screen with your fi nger but using the stylus is generally faster and more accurate.

    Imaging a Drive An image created using the Digital Shredder is an exact binary copy of a source drive to a target drive. The image process includes not only ALL fi les but partition information as well. To image a drive you need two drives, a source drive and a target drive.
