100Mbs separate traffic domains for fiber ports to maximize bandwidth utilization and network performance. All ports can communicate to all other ports in a Magnum 10ETS/XTS, but local traffic on a port will not consume any of the bandwidth on any other port.
MNS software port settings and can check the port status of each port after the change. When Magnum 10ETS/XTS RJ45 copper ports are set for auto-negotiation and are connected to another auto-negotiating device, there are 4 different speed and F/H modes possible depending on what the other device supports.
As a LAN device, the Magnum 10ETS/XTS can do its part to prevent any QOS degradation while it is handling Ethernet traffic through its ports and internal switch buffers.
When the Magnum 10ETS/XTS Terminal Server detects that its free buffer queue space is low, the Switch sends industry standard (full-duplex only) PAUSE packets out to the devices sending it packets to cause “flow control”. This tells the sending devices to temporarily stop sending traffic, which allows the traffic to catch-up without dropping packets.
An important feature of the Magnum 10ETS/XTS is the use of Port Modules for flexible mixed-media connectivity to RJ45 copper and various fiber media. The first two slots (A & B) of the Magnum 10ETS/XTS are fixed RJ45 auto-negotiating copper ports or SFP (Small Form Pluggable) fiber ports with 100Mbps capability. Additionally, the switch can accept one additional Ethernet Port Module in slot C and six Serial port modules in Slots D,E,F,G,H and J and a T1/E1 WAN adapter in Slot I.
