    REMOTE HANDSET HANDSET PREPARATION PRELIMINARIES UNPACKING INSERTING HANDSET BATTERIES The carton contains: • I nvert the unit.     CONNECTING THE SYSTEM - INPUTS INPUT CONNECTIONS MULTICHANNEL 5.1 DVD PLAYER/AV PROCESSOR CONNECTIONS Your loudspeakers can be connected to virtually any Analogue sound source You will need three Stereo RCA REAR FRONT having a line output or a Headphone output. The line output may be Stereo (from Phono-Phono cables. a CD Player, MP3 player etc), or a multi-channel 5.1 output from a DVD player or AV Connect Front, Centre, Rear and sound processor. You can also connect the speakers to a Stereo or Multichannel Subwoofer channels as shown. PC soundcard via the line or Headphone output..     SPEAKER PLACEMENT CONNECTING THE SYSTEM - SPEAKERS The illustration shows a typical 5.1 loudspeaker setup. Connect the loudspeakers as in the diagram below. If a loudspeaker cable is too short you should buy an extension cable. Do NOT cut and splice loudspeaker cables. FL: Front Right Speaker C: Centre Speaker FR: Front Right Speaker SW: Subwoofer RR: Rear Right Speaker RL: Rear Left Speaker The Front Speakers should point slightly in and facing the listening position The Centre Speaker should be mounted above or below the monitor screen central to the front speakers and the listening seat. Ideally Front and Centre speakers should be at the same height and in line.. The Rear loudspeakers are less critical but ideally should face inward from a point somewhat behind the listener’s head. The height of the satellites is important - ideally they should be at ear level or slightly above, pointing down. at the listener The satellites may be placed on shelves or stands or hung on the wall with suitable mounting hardware. The :ubwoofer may be placed almost anywhere, but a position in front of the listener is preferred. If you want to operate the subwoofer remotely it is essential SAFETY NOTES: to have clear unobstructed space between the Handset and the I/R “eye” of the subwoofer.

    OPERATION Please refer to the manual of your source equipment where necessary. SETTING UP THE SYSTEM - MULTICHANNEL INPUT • P ress the BYPASS button on the Handset. SWITCHING ON • P lay some music on the source equipment Check that the equipment is properly connected. • S et the Main Volume Control (using the handset • S witch on the source equipment. o r the Volume control on the Subwoofer) to a suitable level. • P lug the mains plug into the mains socket and switch the power on. • A djust the volume of the Front Speakers at the handset to a reasonable level.
