Applies only to the serial port.
Description
Specifies which flow control mechanism is used on the serial
port.
When 1-way XOFF is selected, the printer sends XON
/XOFF and treats all received serial information as data
for flow control. When XON/XOFF is selected, the XON
/XOFF protocol is obeyed on both the host-to-printer and
printer-to-host channels when the active interpreter is
PostScript.
NOTE: When the PCL interpreter is active, the host-to-
printer channel treats XON and XOFF characters as normal
data, just as if 1-way XOFF were selected.
When DTR/DSR is selected, the DSR and DTR signals are
used for flow control. The ready state of the DTR signal
is controlled by the DTR polarity feature. When any
XON/XOFF feature is selected, the DTR signal is asserted
as ready and held there, according to the DTR polarity
feature.
When ROBUST XON=on is selected, the printer sends an
XON character every 10 seconds when the input buffer is
empty.
This feature appears only when an XON/XOFF flow control
option is selected in the Flow control feature.
Specifies whether the printer uses a high or low signal on
the DTR line as a ready-to-transmit indication.
Specifies the number of stop bits per character over the
serial interface.
Specifies the number of data bits per character over the
serial interface.
