    Dolphin 7900 Series Net Base Quick Start Guide Introduction The Dolphin Net Base charges up to four Dolphin 7900 Series terminals and enables each terminal to communicate with a host device over an Ethernet network. Unpacking the Dolphin Net Base Use only Dolphin 7900 Series peripherals, power cables, and power adapters.

    Power Supply Setting up the Net Base 1. Make sure the power switch on the power adapter is in the OFF position. 2. Plug the power cord into the power adapter. 3. Plug the power connector cable into the power connector on the back panel of the Net Base.

    LEDs There are two LEDs per charging/communication slot: the DOCK LED and the COMM LED. They indicate the status of the terminal seated in the slot. Dock LED Lights solid green to indicate that the terminal is properly seated in the slot. The terminal can communicate with the Net Base only when properly seated.
  • Page 9 3. Power up and wait until the COMM LEDs have stopped flashing. The COMM LEDs stop flashing when the Net Base has found the DHCP server. 4. Enter the user name <handheld> and default login password <handheld> to log into Net Base configuration utility. The Net Base menu program displays.

    Mounting Options The bottom panel of the Dolphin 7900 Series Net Base offers two mounting options: 1. Insert a DIN Rail for desk mounting or 2. Use the wall mount kit (available separately). You need to purchase two kits so that you have two mounting brackets, one for each end of the Net Base.
