Problem
The unit cannot be controlled using the remote
control.
The MHL-compatible mobile device cannot be
controlled using the remote control.

Audio

Problem
No sound.
The volume cannot be increased.
No sound is coming from a specific speaker.
No sound is coming from the surround back
speaker.
Cause
The unit is out of the operating range.
The batteries are weak.
The unit's remote control sensor is exposed to direct sunlight or
strong lighting.
(RX-V777 [China, Korea, U.K. and Europe models] only)
The remote control is set to control external devices.
The remote control IDs of the unit and the remote control are not
identical.
The mobile device or its application is not externally controllable.
Cause
Another input source is selected.
Signals that the unit cannot reproduce are being input.
The cable connecting the unit and playback device is defective.
The maximum volume is set.
A device connected to the output jacks of the unit is not turned on.
The playback source does not contain a signal for the channel.
The currently selected sound program/decoder does not use the
speaker.
Audio output of the speaker is disabled.
The volume of the speaker is set too low.
The speaker cable connecting the unit and the speaker is
defective.
The speaker is malfunctioning.
The extended surround is disabled.
Remedy
Use the remote control within the operating range (p.5).
Replace with new batteries.
Adjust the lighting angle, or reposition the unit.
Press RECEIVER to set the remote control to control the unit (the key lights up in
orange).
Change the remote control ID of the unit or the remote control (p.116).
Directly operate the mobile device itself.
Remedy
Select an appropriate input source with the input selection keys.
Some digital audio formats cannot be played back on the unit. To check the audio
format of the input signal, use "Audio Signal" in the "Information" menu (p.114).
If there is no problem with the connection, replace with another cable.
Use "Max Volume" in the "Setup" menu to adjust the maximum volume (p.104).
Turn on all devices connected to the output jacks of the unit.
To check it, use "Audio Signal" in the "Information" menu (p.114).
To check it, use "Test Tone" in the "Setup" menu (p.103).
Perform "Auto Setup" (p.34) or use "Configuration" in the "Setup" menu to change
the speaker settings (p.100).
Perform "Auto Setup" (p.34) or use "Level" in the "Setup" menu to adjust the
speaker volume (p.102).
If there is no problem with the connection, replace with another speaker cable.
To check it, replace with another speaker. If the problem persists, the unit may be
malfunctioning.
Use "Extended Surround" in the "Setup" menu to select a decoder to be used
(p.104).
