Troubleshooting
Please read the README.TXT file located on your Vortex Installation CD. Additional information is also
available in the Support subdirectory on your Vortex Installation CD. It contains the latest information and
any known issues regarding your Vortex sound card. If the Vortex sound card fails to function properly after
installation, check the following:
•
Are the speaker cables connected correctly? Are your powered speakers on?
Powered speakers are required. Try another pair of speakers.
•
Check the Windows volume and mixer settings.
•
Check that Vortex sound card is selected as the preferred playback and recording device.
•
Choose Settings from the Start menu then choose Control Panel.
•
Double-click Multimedia Properties in the Control Panel window.
•
Click the Audio properties tab.
•
Make sure that Aureal Vortex AU88x0 Playback is selected for playback and Aureal Vortex
AU88x0 Record is selected for recording.
