1) This camera is not resistant to water,
and cannot be used underwater or
o u t d o o r s i f r a i n i n g o r s n o w i n g . l f a c -
c i d e n t a l l y d r o p p e d i n w a t e r , c o n t a c t
an authorized Canon service facility
as quickly as possible. Remove water
d r o p l e t s f r o m t h e c a m e r a w i t h a
clean dry cloth. lf exposed to salt
spray, clean it thoroughly afterward
w i t h a c l e a n , d a m p , w e l l - r u n g c l o t h .
2 ) S t o r e t h e c a m e r a i n a c o o l , d r y , d u s t -
f r e e p l a c e . B e s u r e t o k e e p t h e
c a m e r a o u t o f d i r e c t s u n l i g h t , a n d
away from "hot spots" such as the
t r u n k o r r e a r w i n d o w s h e l f o f a c a r .
A v o i d p l a c e s w h e r e m o t h b a l l s a r e
u s e d , a n d i n e x c e s s i v e h u m i d i t y , u s e
a d e s i c c a n t .
3) Do not attempt to disassemble the
camera yourself . Always take it to an
a u t h o r i z e d C a n o n s e r v i c e f a c i l i t y f o r
r e p a i r .
4) Use a blower brush to remove dust
and sand f rom the lens and inside the
c a m e r a . D o n o t a p p l y a n y f l u i d s t o
the lens or body. Take it to a Canon
s e r v i c e f a c i l i t y f o r m o r e c l e a n i n g i f
necessary.
5 ) F i l m p a s s i n g t h r o u g h x - r a y e x a m i n a -
tions at airports may be exposed and
r u i n e d e v e n w h e n l o a d e d i n t h e
camera. Request a hand-checked in-
spection to avoid damage.
6) Color reproduction may be adverse-
ly affected if f ilm is left in the camera
for a long time. Always develoP ex-
posed film promptly.
