    If you register by post your unit should normally be activated within 24 hours upon our receipt of your completed registration form. Please Note: To register your Sapphire Plus you will need the serial number of your unit and you are required to select a payment method at the time of registration. There are two payment options available: One-Off Lifetime Subscription One up-front payment of £99.95 and receive camera updates via download for the life of the unit.

    Quick Start Guide to Navigation 1. Take your Sapphire Plus outside so that the GPS receiver can locate your position. This may take between 15 - 50 minutes the first time. When satellite lock is achieved, the screen will display your current position on its map in a '3D' navigation view.
  • Page 8 The navigation view will now be displayed, but with the route now highlighted for you. As you approach a specific turn in the calculated route, the Sapphire Plus will advise you what to do. For example, "After 200 yards, turn left", followed by "Now turn left".

    When the Sapphire Plus Updater program is run for the first time you will be asked to select your language and then to select the camera data that you wish to download. Select the data you would like and then click ‘OK’. The software is now ready for use.

    The software will indicate that the download is complete and will instruct you to disconnect the Sapphire Plus from your PC. *You only need to do these steps if you wish to change the data that is downloaded onto the Sapphire Plus. If you want the download settings to be the same as the previous download ignore these two steps.

    2. Plug the other end of the cigarette lighter adaptor into your vehicles cigarette lighter socket. If the Sapphire Plus is powered using the cigarette lighter socket an LED will illuminate on the top right hand side of the unit. When the battery is fully charged, the Red LED will turn Green.

    Low Battery Warning If the Sapphire Plus is powered from the internal battery and the ‘Battery Low – Please Recharge’ warning is displayed on the screen, the unit has approximately 20 to 30 minutes of battery power remaining. You should either connect the cigarette lighter adaptor lead to the unit whilst in the vehicle or recharge the battery from a PC using the USB lead.

    2 Easy Set Up 2.1 Main Menu When you wish to input a destination or configure your Sapphire Plus press the centre of display and you will see the main menu. There are four buttons to choose from: • Navigate to – this allows access to a sub menu for inputting and calculating your destinations.

    However each time you power the device up the original setting will be displayed. The Sapphire Plus enables you to adjust the brightness of the display and save two brightness settings: one for driving during the day and one for driving at night.

    • Press • If you have the European version of the Sapphire Plus, you will need to select first BEFORE typing the postcode. (If the correct country is already displayed, go to the next step). Use the arrow keys on the right of the display to scroll up and down the country options.

  • Page 18 As you begin to input the road or street name, the Sapphire Plus will automatically prompt you with a list of possible matches similar to when searching for ‘City’ described above. When you see the road you require select it by pressing it with your finger.

    Press the icon. The Sapphire Plus will display details of the destination and offer a ‘Go’ button and a ‘Route Option’ button. Press ‘Go’ to begin your journey. Note: You can also change the home destination and delete the home destination from this screen.

    You can then choose how you would like to re-route your journey from the selections shown on the display. In order to use this function on your Sapphire Plus you will need to have entered and calculated a route. If the icon is greyed out, a route has NOT been entered.

    The Sapphire Plus comes complete with a comprehensive list of POI’s (Point’s of Interest). You can search for addresses using POI’s and save POI’s in your list of favourites. You can also choose which of the POI’s you would like to have indicated on your map.

    9.4 Saving User Points If in the unlikely event that you pass the location of a safety camera and your Sapphire Plus does not provide you with an alert, you have the opportunity to store the coordinates of that location manually.

    When you attempt to save a User Point and the Information window with ‘Save user point?’ is not displayed it means that the memory in your Sapphire Plus is completely full. If you want to store any different coordinates, you will have to either delete some or all of the existing coordinates stored in the unit’s memory.
